However, PM Modi made it clear on the occasion of Independence Day that blood and water cannot flow together under any circumstances.

Regarding the Indus Water Treaty, PM Modi said from the Red Fort that this treaty is not right. Its water is irrigating the enemy's land, and my country's land is thirsty. What kind of treaty was this? It has caused so much damage to the country for many years.
He said that the entirety of India and its farmers have a right over the water of the Indus. The situation that has been tolerated cannot be tolerated anymore. He clearly said that this Indus agreement is not acceptable.
